Understanding Human Potential Through Research
OLIVER ZÜGER
Experience, and Purpose
Exploring the intersection of aviation, cognitive psychology, and structured personal development to build a framework for stability in a complex world.
About Oliver
Every project begins with a question. Mine began more than a decade ago after experiencing one of the most difficult periods of my life. Like many people facing unexpected change, I found myself searching for explanations. I wanted to understand why some experiences leave lasting scars while others become turning points for growth.
Rather than accepting simple explanations, I chose to study the question from different perspectives. My professional experience in aviation, my work in higher education, and years of interdisciplinary research gradually came together to form a broader picture of personal stability.
The result is the Personal Stability Index (PSI), an evidence-based framework developed to explore the factors that influence how people respond to challenge, uncertainty, and change.
This website brings together that work. Here you will find my research, books, educational projects, aviation experience, and ongoing efforts to better understand human potential through evidence rather than assumption.
Whether you have arrived here as a researcher, aviation professional, student, organisational leader, or simply out of curiosity, I hope you leave with at least one new question worth exploring.
the personal stability Index(psi)
The Personal Stability Index (PSI) is an integrative framework developed to explore how six interacting dimensions may contribute to personal stability across changing conditions.
The framework brings together established psychological concepts in a structured model and is being developed through academic research and applied exploration
- Evidence-based metrics derived from operational data.
- Applicable in aviation, corporate leadership, and personal development.
- Continuous refinement through ongoing academic peer review.
